Acupuncture

Acupuncture can be understood through two distinct lenses: the ancient, time-tested wisdom of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the measurable science of Modern Medicine.

Whether you look at it as unblocking Qi or signaling the nervous system, the result is identical: acupuncture doesn’t force a foreign chemical into your body. Instead, it awakens your innate intelligence and reminds your body how to heal itself.

Research shows that acupuncture supports immune function, modulates hormones, reduces pain and inflammation, regulates the nervous system, and manages medication side effects. Today, acupuncture is integrated into hospitals, clinics, veterinary practices, and wellness centers worldwide. Backed by thousands of years of historical documentation and continuous modern scientific data, it offers a safe, evidence-informed approach that addresses both immediate symptoms and deeper root patterns.

A woman with long brown hair, wearing a black and white patterned headscarf, is meditating with her eyes closed and hands in a prayer position. Behind her is a wooden sign that reads 'Plants are powerful & so are you,' in a natural outdoor setting with trees and moss.
A woman in a white lab coat is working in a laboratory or apothecary, pouring a liquid from a small brown glass bottle into a beaker on a wooden counter. Behind her are shelves filled with similar brown bottles labeled with various names. On the counter, there are additional empty beakers, a pen, and a paper with handwritten notes. The environment appears organized and professional, with a warm lighting ambiance and a clock on the wall in the background.

Herbalist

Lan Nguyen, MAOM, is a Chinese medicine practitioner dedicated to helping patients connect with their innate healing potential. By bridging the gap between modern movement science and ancient healing traditions, Lan offers a holistic, patient-centered approach to lasting wellness.

Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Lan developed an early appreciation for the land and the healing power of medicinal herbs. After navigating years of academic and personal stressors, she felt a strong calling to explore gentle, natural modalities of healing with fewer side effects. She recognized the importance of balancing the mind, body, and spirit—a philosophy beautifully reflected in TCM’s concept of the Three Treasures: Jing (essence), Qi (vital energy), and Shen (spirit). This profound personal journey ultimately drew her to the study of acupuncture and herbal medicine.

Lan blends her BS in Exercise Science from the University of South Florida with advanced Traditional Chinese Medicine training from the Dragon Rises College of Oriental Medicine. There, she studied the Shen-Hammer pulse diagnosis system—a unique, detailed technique that looks beyond surface symptoms to uncover the deep emotional patterns and nervous system imbalances often at the true root of suffering. By integrating sports medicine with these time-tested traditions, she provides deeply personalized, one-on-one treatments.

Driven by her belief that we all have infinite potential for growth and transformation, Lan utilizes a comprehensive toolkit—including acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Tui Na, cupping, moxibustion, nutrition, and lifestyle recommendations—to help patients elevate their daily well-being.
